Child Abuse Prevention Month
Since 1985, April has been nationally recognized as Child Abuse Prevention Month. The Michigan Children's Trust Fund (CTF) has used this special time each year to acknowledge the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child maltreatment in all its forms.
On April 21, 2020, at 11:00 AM the MI CTF was scheduled to host its 12th annual State of Michigan's Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Day Rally, procession and pinwheel garden planting event in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Due to circumstances beyond our control, we’ve cancelled this year’s April 21st event. This is unfortunate but we endorse the need to keep our state’s children and families safe and as healthy as possible during the coronavirus pandemic.
We look forward to 2021 when we will be able to once more hold Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Day, an auspicious occasion that reaffirms, for everyone in our state, that all our children deserve safe and nurturing childhoods.
We appreciate your understanding of this situation. Here’s wishing that you and yours stay healthy and safe during this trying time.
