Project: St. Clair County Great Start Home Visiting uses the Parents as Teachers (PAT) Program for Parents model as the basis for home visits. This research-based model provides individual, non-threatening opportunities for parents and their children to develop or improve in their lives the five protective factors identified through the Strengthening Families approach: parent resilence, social connections, concrete supports, knowledge of parenting and child development, and social and emotional competence of children.
