Project: The purpose of this project is to augment Motherly Intercession's current program service delivery by; integrating a Circle of Parents component into the Strengthening Incarcerated Families (SIF) Program Model and further expanding its service delivery by increasing its focus on the male inmate population in Genesee County jail and previously incarcerated fathers in the community.

Motherly Intercession will apply its Family Stress Model (Please see Logic Model SIF & PWI Family Stress in attachments) to reduce the risk of child abuse and neglect among the parents and alternate caregives for children of currently or previously incarcerated mothers or fathers of Flint (Genesee County) Michigan. Parents and alternate caregiers; whose lives have been negatively impacted by multiple traumatic experiences (i.e. victimization during their own childhood, the poisonous Flint water crisis, incarceration, community violence, poor economic conditions, generational povverty and other challenges). All of which further increase the risk for traumatic stress disorders among the parents and alternate caregivers who are responsible for the care of young children. The enhancement of the programs and wraparound services that are provided by Motherly Intercession coupled with expansion efforts to include a larger segment of the community is invaluable to our efforts to reduce the risk of child abuse and neglectful actions toward this young, innocent, population of children
