State offers on-site technical assistance to address lead plumbing in schools through Michigan School Water Training Program

The Michigan School Water Training Program (SWTP) will be offering free technical assistance to all public and registered nonpublic schools in Michigan to help identify school plumbing containing lead. Technical assistance includes; developing a sampling plan, a plumbing assessment, and profile, how to collect an investigative sample and education on lead risk reduction.
To maximize the benefits of the programschools should designate staff that will assist in the site visit, provide a floor plan and if possible, have blueprints of the facility available. Priority will be to the buildings and children at the highest risk of lead exposure in drinking water.
Participation in the program is voluntary and attendance is limited. Schools interested in joining the program should contact Holly Gohlke, at 989-705-3422 or email@example.com. The program will conclude on September 30, 2019.
