Enbridge Pipeline (Lakehead) L.L.C. Permit Application

Enbridge pipeline (Lakehead) L.L.C. has applied for a permit, submission number HNC-AR90-WAHM0 to install up to 48 anchor support structures into the lake bed for the Line 5 pipelines in the Straits of Mackinac between Point La Barbe in the Upper Peninsula and McGulpin Point in the Lower Peninsula under authority of Part 325, Great Lakes Submerged Lands, of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994 PA 451, as amended (NREPA). A marine infrastructure and utility contractor is proposed to work from barges, utilizing professional divers to complete the anchor installation. No new on-land staging, temporary workspaces, or new access routes are requested for the Project. The project is located in: T39N, R4W, Sections 10, 11, Wawatam Township, Emmet County and T40N. R4W, Section 25, Moran Township, Mackinac County Michigan.p>

Public Comment

The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) is currently accepting comments on the permit application. The permit application public comment period will close at 11:59 p.m. on Saturday July 21, 2018.
