Community

Pollution Prevention (P2) resources are available for communities to address topics such as energy efficiency, waste reduction, water and resource usage, and exposure to toxics. Community efforts to address these topics can be beneficial to the environment and also improve the health of community members. Promote P2 activities in your community at home, work, or school, to protect the local economy, improve health, and reduce energy costs.

Green Communities Challenge. The Michigan Green Communities is a partnership of more than 400 local government leaders. This peer-to-peer network share home-grown best practices to help other Michigan communities overcome barriers, save money, and realize social and environmental benefits.

 


The Community Pollution Prevention (P2) Grants Program annually funds community based pollution prevention projects.
The Neighborhood Environmental Partners Program, a program for Clean Corporate Citizens designees and partnering community groups working together to implement environmental projects.
The State of Michigan invites you to recognize National Pollution Prevention (P2) Week, by participating in activities that reduce, reuse, and recycle waste.
The Recreational Stewardship examples and resources that you can take advantage of while enjoying Michigan's scenic wonders. Parks, marinas, golf courses, and lodging are just a few of the "Green" examples you will find.
Information regarding sustainability and links to resources for consumers, businesses, government, and educational institutions.
