If the license held in your previous home state was surrendered less than 90 days ago, you do not need to take the Michigan licensing examination. Submit an electronic application via the NIPR website at www.nipr.com.

If the license held in your previous home state was surrendered more than 90 days but less than 12 months ago, you do not need a PE waiver. In that case, submit an electronic application via the NIPR website at www.nipr.com and successfully pass the Michigan licensing examination.

However, if your previous license was surrendered more than 12 months ago, you will need to successfully complete PE coursework and pass the Michigan licensing examination. In addition, you will need to submit an electronic application via the NIPR website at www.nipr.com.
