Sarah Wohlford serves as DIFS' Senior Deputy Director and is responsible for supervising the Office of General Counsel and the Office of Insurance Rates and Forms. Ms. Wohlford is also the Director of DIFS' Office of Research, Rules, and Appeals.

Ms. Wohlford holds a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, an M.A. from Rutgers University-New Brunswick, and a B.A. from Grinnell College. She has been licensed to practice law since 2006. Before joining DIFS in 2011, she worked in private practice.

Ms. Wohlford provides legal advice in multiple areas of state and federal law to DIFS staff. She also serves as DIFS' Regulatory Affairs Officer and as Special Deputy Director for the Patient's Right to Independent Review Act. Ms. Wohlford is a contributor to the Institute for Continuing Legal Education's Michigan Insurance Law and Practice.
