When the temperatures start to cool off and the leaves begin to turn colors, more than 30 Michigan state parks play host to fall harvest festivals.
Hay rides, pumpkin carving, trick-or-treating, costume contests, haunted trails, nature programs and horse-drawn carriage rides are just some of the family-friendly activities taking place in September and October. Each park puts its own personal spin on the celebrations, so no two events are exactly the same. *Activities taking place in state park campgrounds are typically open only to registered campers only.
To make a camping reservation, visit www.midnrreservations.com or call 1-800-44PARKS. Camping reservations can be booked up to six months, which means sites are available in September and October.
