Dark Sky with telescope
Visit Leelanau State Park during the Perseid meteor shower. With your naked eye, the potential to see hundreds of meteors flash across the sky is good. Visitors should meet at the day-use pavilion where complimentary s'mores will be provided during this star-gazing opportunity. The meteors are best viewed while lying on your back, so it is advised visitors bring a lawn chair or blanket. Please dress according to the weather, bring bug spray and your own beverages. Updates can be found on the Friends of Leelanau State Park Facebook page. For more information, please call the park.

A Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry into Michigan state parks. To make a camping reservation, visit www.midnrreservations.com or call 1-800-447-2757.

Please Note: Dates occasionally change and events may be canceled due to inclement weather and other reasons. Please call the park to confirm dates/times prior to your arrival.
