Spotted Knapweed - Invasive

Meet at the picnic area (Interpretive shelter) south of the campground.  GPS coordinates:  41.907001, -86.591755.

Help us protect the dune system and rare/threatened thistle by removing spotted knapweed! This sun-loving plant will crowd out our native flora if left unchecked. Volunteers will focus on pulling plants from the critical area near the thistle plants. Long sleeves are recommended as some can be sensitive to this plant.

Please register using the volunteer registration form or via email to freih@michigan.gov. Additional information is available via the DNR Volunteer Stewardship webpage. For more information about invasive species, please visit michigan.gov/invasives.

Please Note: Dates occasionally change and events may be canceled due to inclement weather and other reasons. Please call the event contact to confirm dates/times prior to your arrival.

A Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry into Michigan state parks. To make a camping reservation, visit www.midnrreservations.com or call 1-800-447-2757.
