Spotted Knapweed - Invasive

Meet at the picnic area (Interpretive shelter) south of the campground. GPS coordinates:  41.907001, -86.591755.

We’re making great progress on Pitcher’s Thistle protection thanks to DNR Volunteer Stewards! Please join us as we continue these efforts to pull invasive spotted knapweed from the open dune system. Long sleeves are recommended as some can be sensitive to this plant.

Please register using the volunteer registration form or via email to freih@michigan.gov. Additional information is available via the DNR Volunteer Stewardship webpage. For more information about invasive species, please visit michigan.gov/invasives.

Please Note: Dates occasionally change and events may be canceled due to inclement weather and other reasons. Please call the event contact to confirm dates/times prior to your arrival.

A Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry into Michigan state parks. To make a camping reservation, visit www.midnrreservations.com or call 1-800-447-2757.

Sign up for the parks you are interested in volunteering and you will be notified about upcoming volunteer steward events.
