Brightly colored Fireworks Display

The Pentwater Homecoming Festival occurs on the second full weekend of August each year. Festivities begin on Thursday of the week and every year on Saturday at dusk a fireworks display billed as more spectacular than July 3rd occurs. The park beach is the closest place to view the display.

The beach parking lot at the park generally fills with people coming to see the fireworks around 8 p.m. Once the parking lot is full at or after 8 p.m. then Lowell St. gets shut down by local police to ensure the safety of people walking or riding bikes to the park to enjoy the fireworks.  At the conclusion of the fireworks Lowell St. remains closed until a majority of pedestrians have cleared Lowell St. If visitors park in the parking lot please be prepared to wait an extra 20 to 40 minutes after the fireworks end before you will be able to leave the park. For more information, please call the park or email the chamber of commerce.

A Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry into Michigan state parks. To make a camping reservation, visit or call 1-800-447-2757.

Please Note: Dates occasionally change and events may be canceled due to inclement weather and other reasons. Please call the park to confirm dates/times prior to your arrival.
