Hankerd dry sand prairie and oak barrens is an ecologically valuable place that needs ongoing removal of invasive shrubs to keep it in good condition. We will be cutting small black locust and any other shrubs that don’t belong to protect this site and the native plants that call it home. Please contact Kelsey at 517-388-8517 for questions about the workday.
Please register using the volunteer registration form or via email to DillonK1@michigan.gov. Additional information is available via the DNR Volunteer Stewardship webpage. For more information about invasive species, please visit Michigan.gov/Invasives.
