This event has been canceled

Mark your calendars now for National Lighthouse Day! Free lighthouse tours will run at the Tawas Point Lighthouse from 11a.m. - 4 p.m. Take the opportunity for a self-guided tour, including a trip up the tower to the lantern room, where you can view the entire area – Tawas Bay, Lake Huron, Tawas Point and with clear skies you can even see Big Charity Island, and the wind turbines on the Michigan thumb!

Did someone say FREE ice cream floats, too? The Friends organization will also be supplying these delicious treats on the lighthouse lawn area, while supplies last. There will also be free crafts and games for the whole family! For more information, please call the park.

A Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry into Michigan state parks. Make a camping reservation online at www.midnrreservations.com or call 1-800-447-2757.

The lighthouse at Tawas Point State Park is part of the Michigan History Center's Michigan History Museum System. Visit the Michigan History Center event calendar to see museum system events throughout the state.
