Stewardship Volunteers

Meet on Vista Drive at the parking area across from the athletic fields and building. Map/GPS coordinates: 42.340013, -82.979474.

Join us for Stewardship Saturdays on Belle Isle. Our summer project will focus on cutting invasive shrubs, especially glossy buckthorn and honeysuckle, to restore the wet mesic flatwoods on the island. Wear sturdy footwear and long pants as poison ivy is common.

Please note that due to COVID-19, space is limited and registration is required to help comply with social distancing guidelines. Register by emailing Kelsey Dillon at DillonK1@michigan.gov.

Please Note: Dates occasionally change and events may be canceled due to inclement weather and other reasons. Please call the event contact to confirm dates/times prior to your arrival.

For more information on the program, visit the Volunteer Stewardship webpage. For more information about invasive species, visit Michigan.gov/Invasives.

Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry into Michigan state parks. To make a camping reservation, visit MIDNRReservations.com or call 1-800-447-2757.
