Stewardship Volunteers

Meet at the picnic area south of the campground (Interpretive shelter). Meeting location: 41.907001, -86.591755

Help us protect the dune system and threatened Pitcher's thistle by removing spotted knapweed! This sun-loving plant will crowd out our native flora if left unchecked.  Volunteers will focus on pulling plants from the critical area near the thistle plants. Long sleeves are recommended as some can be sensitive to this plant. Registration is required. Register by emailing Emily Leslie at LeslieE1@michigan.gov

For more information on the program, visit the Volunteer Stewardship webpage. For more information about invasive species, visit Michigan.gov/Invasives.

Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry into Michigan state parks. To make a camping reservation, visit MIDNRReservations.com or call 1-800-447-2757.

Stay in the know! Sign up for the parks you're interested in volunteering, and you will be notified about upcoming volunteer stewardship events.
