Stewardship Volunteers

Meet in the Gillette visitor center parking lot. Meeting location: 43.121436, -86.265354

Come help us protect our precious dunes and forest systems by taking out harmful invasive species that can alter habitat for native birds and plants! Volunteers will be trained to identify and remove these unwanted plants to help protect our native forests. We will be traveling on and off trail and hiking up some steep dunes so please be prepared to spend the day in the woods in some tough terrain! Please register using the volunteer registration form or via email to LeslieE1@michigan.gov. Additional information is available via the DNR Volunteer Stewardship webpage. For more information about invasive species, please visit michigan.gov/Invasives.

Please Note: Dates occasionally change and events may be canceled due to inclement weather and other reasons. Please call the event contact to confirm dates/times prior to your arrival.
