A large area of this 837-acre lake consists of shallow, sandy shoal areas. Cover along the shoreline is generally sparse with scattered weed beds; downed trees and other woody debris are also sparse. The bottom substrate consists of mainly sand in the shallow areas along the shoreline. Gravel, cobble and rock are dispered along the northern shoreline.
