Gun Lake is southwest Michigan's largest all-sport lake. There is an improved boat launch and a fishing pier. There is a campground with a boat launch on the channel. The lake is 2680 acres and managed by the State of Michigan, Department of Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation Division, Yankee Springs Recreation Area.

East of US 131 (Exit 61) 7 miles on M179, turn right at S. Briggs Rd. Park entrance is 1 mile down on the right. From Hastings, go west on M179 12 miles to S. Briggs Rd. Turn left to the park entrance 1 mile down on the right. From Middleville, go south on M37. Go 3 miles and turn right onto Yankee Springs Rd. Go 5 miles and turn right on M179. Go 3 miles and turn left on S. Briggs Rd. Park entrance is 1 mile down on the right. From Delton, go NORTH on M43. Turn left onto M179. Go 10 miles and turn left onto S. Briggs Rd. The park entrance is 1 mile down on the right.
