• Michigan Trails Week: Sept. 19-26, 2021

When a state has the enviable resources Michigan does - 13,000 miles of state-designated trails, thousands of miles of local, county and federally managed trails, and more rail-trail miles than any state in the nation - it's hard to keep quiet. With that in mind, Michigan Trails Week is the perfect time to hit your favorite trail or find an all-new trail adventure.

    2021 MTW Challenge

No matter how you like to travel the trails, everyone was invited to contribute their miles toward a statewide, collective goal of 100,000 miles as part of the 2021 Michigan Trails Week Challenge. Participants were asked to register online and log miles spent on any local, county, state or federally managed trail to earn cool prizes. Every participant earned a virtual badge when they registered for the challenge and logged at least 1 mile, and then every time they:

    • Biked for 10 miles.
    • Rode a horse for 5 miles.
    • Paddled for 2 miles.
    • Rode (ORV, ATV, motorcycle) for 15 miles.
    • Walked, ran or hiked for 5 miles.

    2021 MTW Challenge winners

Everyone that earned virtual badges were entered into a drawing for cool outdoor gear and Michigan-branded prizes. Winners will be contacted by email.
