State Forest Donations
Each year the Department of Natural Resources and the State Forest Family receives requests for ways individuals, families and companies can contribute to state forest management programs. Reforestation, erosion control, trash removal and Adopt-a-Forest are a few of the many programs that help maintain the 4 million acres of state forest land that may receive contributions.
The State Forest Family donation program has been developed as a method for recognizing our partners in conservation and receiving contributions on behalf of these programs. Gifts are accepted in any monetary amount and will be directed to the program of the donors' choosing.
Each donor becomes a member of the State Forest Family, and will receive a special letter of thanks signed by the state forester of Michigan.
Donors contributing $50 or more also receive a lapel pin bearing the State Forest Family emblem and a certificate of appreciation.
Donations of $500 or more will be added to the State Forest Family Honor Roll on the Forest Resources Division's web page, in addition to receiving a State Forest Family lapel pin, certificate of appreciation, and letter from the state forester.
Contributions can be made by check or money order payable to the "State of Michigan" and sent to:
