While there is no longer a statewide requirement to wear a face mask in most settings, local health departments, establishments, sports organizers, and school districts may have additional rules that must be followed.
On Nov. 19, 2021, MDHHS updated its guidance on face coverings. In areas with substantial and high transmission, the Centers for Disease Control recommends that everyone (including fully vaccinated people) wear face masks in public indoor settings to help prevent spread of COVID-19, especially the Delta variant, and to protect others.
The State of Michigan has adopted a mask mandate for all state office buildings. In addition, you may see DNR staff wearing masks even outside of state office buildings, and visitors are encouraged to wear masks at DNR facilities.
Most DNR public facilities are in the process of reopening to the public, some with limited hours. Watch this page for updates.
