Kick off your New Year's resolutions and join the national First Day Hikes program hosted by America's State Parks.
It’s a virtual opportunity to hike, cross-county ski, ride (horse or bike) or snowshoe and add your miles to our collective New Year’s Day goal of 2,021 miles. Choose your (self-guided) route and distance on any nonmotorized trail and start the year right!
Be sure to RSVP, then come back to log your miles after you hit the trails.
Always dress appropriately for the weather. And though First Day Hikes are perfect for social distancing, remember to stay at least 6 feet from people who aren’t from your household, and wear a mask if you’re going to be near others. For more information, contact Elissa Buck at bucke1@michigan.gov or 989-313-0000.
This isn’t a competition, just a great opportunity to get outside and get moving.
