Michigan Sharp-tailed Grouse Association to meet, tour habitat in Schoolcraft County
August 08, 2022
The Michigan Sharp-tailed Grouse Association is inviting all interested parties to attend its 2022 annual meeting on Friday, Aug. 19 in Seney.
There will be a short business meeting, followed by a field trip to nearby Michigan Department of Natural Resources management areas, where there have been prescriptive burns to benefit sharp-tailed grouse, white-tailed deer and other birds and animals that prefer open and semi-open grassland and early succession forests.
The meeting will be at 10 a.m. Aug. 19 at the Seney Township Hall, located at 1576 W. Railroad Street in Seney. Lunch will be provided for all attendees.
Speakers will include Marty Sarrault, MSGA president, as well as representatives from the DNR. Recently, there has been a coordinated effort by state, federal and tribal wildlife managers to maintain and expand open management areas.
