Natural Resources Commission to meet Oct. 13 in Marquette; draft agenda available online

The draft agenda for the Thursday, Oct. 13, meeting of the Michigan Natural Resources Commission has been posted to the NRC website at Michigan.gov/NRC. The meeting starts at 9 a.m. and will take place in NC Peninsula Room II at Northern Michigan University, 1401 Presque Isle Ave., in Marquette.

The public is welcome to enjoy "Coffee with the Commissioners" from 8 to 9 a.m., also in NC Peninsula Room II.

The Michigan Natural Resources Commission is a seven-member public body whose members are appointed by the governor, subject to the advice and consent of the Senate. The commission conducts monthly public meetings in locations throughout Michigan. Residents are encouraged to become actively involved in these public forums.

The commission has exclusive authority to regulate the taking of game and sport fish and is authorized to designate game species in Michigan.
