Boating access site to temporarily close at Lake Gogebic State Park
April 30, 2024
A boating access site at Lake Gogebic State Park in Gogebic County will close temporarily beginning tomorrow while a culvert replacement project takes place.
The closure is expected to remain in effect until May 9.
Meanwhile, Lake Gogebic can be alternatively accessed by boaters and anglers via the Michigan Department of Natural Resources-managed Bergland Dock, located about 12 miles north of the state park along M-64 or the DNR’s East Shore Boating Access site, situated about 18 miles away off East Shore Road.
Work on the $12,000 project will be performed by the DNR’s Parks and Recreation Division field construction crew headquartered in Baraga.
