The “unofficial” end of summer may be here, but don’t let that stop you from getting outside and trying something new near you. There are plenty of options – from hitting a trail to hunting and fishing – to enjoy these warm days and cooler nights.
Fall is the perfect time for fun bonfires, burning fallen leaves or pruning trees with power tools, but please keep fire safety in mind!
Enjoy your s’mores but be sure to douse your fire with water, stir and douse again before leaving. If you plan to burn, check Michigan.gov/BurnPermit to see if it’s safe that day. Always use caution with power tools to keep sparks from igniting leaves or grass.
