Do you know a youth hunter interested in learning about small game hunting? Now is their chance! Youth hunters ages 16 and younger can participate in a free small game hunt held at the Belding Sportsman’s Club in Montcalm County.
Breakfast will be served at 7:30a.m with the hunt beginning shortly after daylight. Lunch will be served at 11 a.m. with a prize raffle at 12:30 p.m.
Participants must bring their base license or mentored youth license, hunter orange garments, and firearm and ammunition. Hunting guides may be available.
A partnership with the Michigan DNR, Belding Sportsman’s Club, Michigan Squirrel Dog Association, and Mid-Michigan United Sportsman’s Alliance makes this hunt possible.
To RSVP, call the DNR Flat River Field Office at 616-794-2658. Preregistration is required by January 18.
