Wolf Lake State Fish Hatchery Visitor Center - Great Backyard Bird Count

The Audubon Society of Kalamazoo’s Kent Martin and Sue Creager will lead this bird walk to discover a variety of birds that overwinter in Michigan including a variety of ducks and swans that remain on the open water ponds at the hatchery. The program is part of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s annual Great Backyard Bird Count and will last approximately 90 minutes. The visitor center will be open with hot cocoa and coffee available. Participants should meet at the visitor center to begin the program.

The program is open to all ages and skill levels. Binoculars will be available to borrow for those without. Dress exceptionally warm, the trails can be windy.
