Lake Hudson Dark Sky Night – International Dark Sky Week 2023

  • Lake Hudson is recognized as the first dark-sky preserve in the United States, when it was designated as such in 1993
  • Meteors and S’mores held at the Pavilion at Lake Hudson.  All supplies will be provided by the park.
  • Nighttime Scavenger Hunt – This event is open to ages 10 and up.  The scavenger hunt will take place at Lake Hudson.
  • Glow in the dark star hunt for children 9 and under.  This event will start just after dark.

Night Hike – Go on a night hike with a guide on the Trails at Lake Hudson Rec. Area.  The hike will start at the Pavilion and head toward the Boat Launch and then return to the Pavilion.  Open for all ages.

All ages are welcome to attend the event, but there will be age restrictions for certain activities.

All materials for the activities will be provided.  Anyone wishing to view the night sky will need to bring their own equipment.

Meet at the Pavilion area.
