Join outdoor enthusiasts Grant Fry and Jonathan Massung as we dive into the basics of bass fishing! Learn different kinds of rods and how to calibrate a bait caster. Topics also include different bait types like frogs, poppers, Texas rigs and more. Practice casts on equipment around the center and on the waters of Tobico Lagoon.
We will start the day in the classroom and then move to the waters nearby. Class will conclude with a fishing competition with prizes.
Cost is $35. Lunch will be provided, along with some starter lures.
To register for this class, go to Michigan.gov/DNRLicenses and click on the "Purchase a license" button. Sign in (using either a username and password or your ID and birthdate), and find the class under the Outdoor Skills Academy tab.
