Hartwick Pines State Park - Feb. 17-18, Snowshoe-Building Workshop
This two-day workshop will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days (or until you finish lacing your snowshoes).
Instructors will give participants step-by-step instruction on how to lace the modified bear paw style, wooden-framed snowshoes (10 by 36 inches). Tubular nylon will be used for the lacing. The snowshoe kit comes with a set of "Super A" bindings.
Participants will have to varnish their snowshoes with a spar urethane/marine varnish at a later time, preferably in a well-ventilated location.
There will be a lunch break at noon, and participants may either bring their own food or go into downtown Grayling to buy lunch.
Cost for the class is $185. Participation is limited to 10.
Please note: Cancellations must be made no later than Feb. 9, 2024.
