Join outdoor enthusiast Jeff Lash as he instructs you on how to identify seasonal wild mushrooms and shares some tips on where to start looking. In addition, you will learn about proper handling techniques for transport, cleaning, consumption and home preservation.
The class will start at the Hunt and Fish Center at 10 a.m. (doors open at 9:30) and will run four to five hours. We will start the day in the classroom and then move to the woods nearby. More time will be spent outdoors than in the classroom.
Cost for the class is $30, which includes lunch.
To register for this class, go to Michigan.gov/DNRLicenses and click on the "Purchase a license" button. Sign in (using either a username and password or your ID and birthdate), and find the class under the Outdoor Skills Academy tab. If you should need to request a refund after registering, please contact our License Sales and Customer Service help desk line at 800-737-6367.
Please note cancellation policy: Cancellations made any time after processing this reservation until the close of business two weeks prior to your scheduled arrival date will incur a 50% cancellation fee. If you cancel after the two-week deadline, no refund will be issued. Students are entitled to any of the materials purchased for the class after the two-week deadline, except materials that have a shelf life.
