Fort Custer Recreation Area - Fall Colors Galesburg/Augusta Kanoe the Kazoo
A fun paddle to showcase the beauty of the Kalamazoo River in the fall. We will start at the Kalamazoo River Boat Launch in Ft. Custer Recreation Area (once you turn into the park you will take the first right then another right immediately after. There are also signs that indicate where the launch is that you can follow). We will float to Time Out Lounge in Galesburg. Shuttles will be available. Cider and donuts will be provided!
If you do not own a vessel, there will be some available to rent. Mainstream Tackle & Outdoors is partnering with us for this event and will be offering kayaks for $20 a person. For those interested in renting, please indicate this preference on the registration form and call Mainstream Tackle & Outdoors (269-665-5076) to book one for that day as there is limited availability. Pre-registration is required.
Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring a life jacket if you are using your own vessel. If you are renting a vessel, one will be provided for you. A dry bag (or plastic bag) to protect personal belongings, water, appropriate footwear, and a hat/sunglasses are recommended.
Online pre-registration is required. The registration form may be found here. Please reach out to Isabela Ballez for questions: krwcintern@gmail.com
A Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry into Michigan state parks. To make a camping reservation, visit MIDNRReservations.com or call 1-800-447-2757.
