Deer patch
50th anniversary deer patch
This year marks 50 years of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources’ Deer Management Cooperator Patch. The annual deer patch design contest is open to everyone and takes place in the spring. Artists can submit their original work showing deer or deer hunting in Michigan. The deer patch was first produced in 1972. Brian Shaw from Spring Arbor, MI created the winning 2022 deer patch design, which commemorates the 50th anniversary.
Hunters who want a patch to commemorate the season will be able to purchase one online at Michigan.gov/DNRLicenses. Simply login and look for the "Patches" tab to begin. There will be a limit of 2 patches per order.
You can also purchase the patch from the DNR Hunt Fish mobile app (available on Android or Apple).
Patches go on sale starting Sept. 15, 2022, at 10 a.m. while supplies last. The cost of the patch will be $8 and includes shipping and handling.
