State of Michigan Recognized as a Top Five State for Overall Digital Experience

The state of Michigan placed in the top five states for creating and delivering citizen-centric services across digital platforms by the Center for Digital Government.
The state was recognized as fifth overall, the second straight year finishing in the top five. The awards recognize achievements and best practices of government entities who best improve and deliver digital citizen services.
“We continue to align and expand our web, mobile and social strategies to meet the needs and demands of our customers,” said Suzanne Pauley, director, eMichigan with the state of Michigan. “Balancing digital content with our mobile-first, cloud-first, and big data strategies we strive to provide predictive government services that are on par with the best in the private sector.”
The Center for Digital Government noted Michigan’s dedicated user experience team and for being one of the first states in the nation to hire a statewide digital content administrator as reasons for the top five rank. The user experience team comprised of digital strategists, production designers, and accessibility testers are driving the states Citizen-Centric-Government (CCG) strategy, an initiative to transform the way people interact with their government.
“Putting citizens first and promoting consistent digital experiences across platforms are central to our strategies,” noted, Andrew Belanger, statewide digital content administrator with the state of Michigan. “Improved accessibility, content collaboration and content consolidation from multiple agencies is helping improve digital services for the people who live, work, visit and do business in Michigan.”
