Detroit – Today, the state of Michigan announced the opening of two new retail businesses in the state-owned Cadillac Place Building, stemming from efforts to revitalize the retail suites and contribute to the New Center neighborhood’s growing vitality. The Busted Bra Shop opened their doors to the public on Feb. 4 and Foodie Fresh Market plans to open on Feb. 19.
“We are delighted by the addition of these already successful businesses to the Cadillac Place Arcade,” said DTMB Director Tricia Foster. “We encourage the public to rediscover this beautiful historic building as they visit these and the other businesses located in the Arcade.”
Busted Bra Shop is a custom fit, specialty bra boutique, opening its second location in Detroit.
“We are excited about bringing our specialty bra boutique to the New Center area. Busted Bra Shop provides fitting service for intimate foundation wear,” said Lee Padgett, Owner. “Our lingerie is fun, fashionable, and supportive. Our size range is A-O cups and 28-56 bands, XXS-10X.”
Foodie Fresh Market is the first new private food-service provider to open in Cadillac Place since General Motors occupied the building.
“Foodie Fresh is a unique quick-serve food concept, custom designed for a fast-paced environment to fit the needs of the busy work population that’s pressed for time,” said Dominic Valenti, proprietor. “Foodie Fresh will offer a variety of a quick grab-n-go options including fresh salads, deli style sandwiches, fresh fruit, yogurt parfaits and a wide variety of beverage options from cappuccino to Detroit’s favorite soft drink - Faygo.”
The state has made great strides to revitalize the retail areas of the Cadillac Building. Last year, statutory changes allowed for additional food options in the building. The state has also added additional building hours, security changes to make the Arcade pedestrian friendly, added exterior entrances to select retail suites and worked with local partners to attract new businesses.
