Composting Operations: Regulations and Best Management Practices Workshop

This workshop was designed to provide businesses and local officials involved with compost operations the informational tools and training needed to operate a larger scale operation in Michigan. The workshop provided information about composting basics and address complex issues such as facility siting, operations, trouble shooting, and marketing. A key focus of the training was on state regulations that affect compost operations, including important water regulations that composting operations must comply with. The full-day training includes lunch, materials, and valuable networking time. All attendees received a copy of the Michigan Compost Operator Training Guidebook.
