Corrective Measures Implementation Report

On August 13, 2018, the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) received a Corrective Measures Implementation (CMI) Report from General Electric Company (GE).  At EGLE's request, GE made subsequent revisions to the CMI Report.  A copy of the final CMI Report is provided below.

The CMI Report documents work completed by GE to address environmental contamination at the former General Electric Apparatus Center (MID 050 616 622) located at 18075 Krause Street in Riverview, Michigan.

The CMI Report describes the site investigations and corrective measures completed at the property to address human health risks associated with hazardous substances detected in soil and groundwater at the property.  GE removed most soils contaminated by polychlorinated biphenyls, volatile organic compounds, and metals.  Residual soil and groundwater will remain on-site.  Evaluations show this contamination will not migrate off-site.  A restrictive covenant will be placed on the property.  It will limit property use to non-residential activities, identify locations where residual soil and groundwater remain, and identify the contaminants within those media.
