Just and Equitable Transportation
The State Energy Program is working with businesses, townships, counties, cities and villages throughout the state to help them become EV ready. To become EV ready requires a community-wide effort requiring planning, charging infrastructure policies, and support services for EVs.
Optimized EV Charger Placement Plan
The State Energy Program has taken steps to develop a DC fast charging network for worry-free electric vehicle (EV) travel throughout Michigan by 2030. The project, driven by stakeholders, takes an analytical approach to optimizing the placement of EV charging stations statewide with minimal investment cost and user delay. The Optimized EV Charger Placement Plan identified the locations that would be eligible for grant funding through Charge Up Michigan.
Charge Up Michigan Grant Program
The Charge Up Michigan Program is an EV Charger Placement grant project that aims to build the infrastructure for direct current fast charging (DCFC) stations throughout Michigan, for worry free EV travel within the state, and also to neighboring states and Canada.
National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Program
National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program will provide dedicated funding to States to strategically deploy EV charging infrastructure and establish an interconnected network to facilitate data collection, access, and reliability.
