July 18, 2019

The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE) today awarded the first grant related to its Drinking Water Contamination Reduction program to the city of Norton Shores for the installation of infrastructure needed to connect four private residential wells to the local municipal water supply.

The $33,676 grant is part of a pilot program designed to help combat PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) and other contamination in drinking water sources.

Muskegon County, the city of Norton Shores, and EGLE continue to work together to protect public health and provide a safe source of drinking water to residents.
