Five Michigan cities to host electric vehicle ride-and-drives during National Drive Electric Week

September 10, 2019

Electric vehicles lined up at a Michigan drivers will get the chance to test drive a variety of electric vehicle (EV) models at upcoming National Drive Electric Week (September 14 to 22) events in five Michigan cities: Ann Arbor, Boyne City, Hastings, Kalamazoo, and Kentwood.

EV owners will be on hand at events to offer rides and drives and to answer questions about the EV ownership experience.

EVs feature a number of benefits, including:

  • No visits to the gasoline pump.
  • Zero tailpipe emissions.
  • Reduced air pollution.
  • No noise pollution.
  • Lower maintenance costs.

National Drive Electric Week is an annual celebration and outreach effort that consists of EV activities staged in cities coast to coast and internationally. The goal is to share the experience of electric vehicle owners and bring information about the many reasons to adopt electric vehicles to consumers, policymakers, the media, and the general public.

More than 280 events are being held across the country during the designated week. Events feature electric car parades, "tailpipe free" tailgate parties, ride-and-drives, and other public events.
