EGLE unveils searchable database to track loans for water system upgrades to local governments

As part of United for Infrastructure 2020, a week that highlights infrastructure in our daily lives, EGLE is highlighting its interactive water infrastructure financing map.

The Department of Environment Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE) has developed an interactive web application to view loans financed through the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) and the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF).

The low-interest loan financing programs assist qualified municipalities and eligible water suppliers the ability to construct needed water pollution control facilities and satisfy the requirements of the Safe Drinking Water Act. Information about loans given out through these two programs from fiscal year 2019 and beyond are available to search and view through the application.

Projects are displayed on the map with icons denoting which program they represent — either CWSRF or DWSRF. The icons then give additional project information when selected. Instructions for the application and its search functions are available within the app and an associated video tutorial, along with a written transcript detailing all the functions will be available.
