2020 By the Numbers: 51,404 gallons of PFAS containing firefighting foam collected

2020 By the Numbers - Firefighting foam being collectedThe Michigan PFAS Action Response Team (MPART) collected and safely disposed of 51,404 gallons of surplus PFAS-containing aqueous film forming foam (AFFF) held by fire departments and commercial airports across Michigan. The collection was part of a $1.4 million EGLE program designed to prevent future contamination caused by the unintentional use of this PFAS containing product.

Michigan continues to be a leader in addressing the PFAS threat, with some of the nation's most protective standards.
