Video spotlights the contributions of veterans serving with EGLE
November 10, 2021
For Veterans Day, the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) has produced a new video honoring the lives of veterans who work in the department. Watch to the end of the video for a moving scroll of EGLE's eclectic public servants in uniform!
"This Veterans Day, I hope everyone will take a moment along with me to thank those veterans who are members of our community our family our friends and certainly our colleagues at EGLE," said EGLE Director Liesl Clark.
"The veterans that we serve with in the department really set the bar high for public service and continue to help us make this a better place to work and make us better accomplished at meeting our goal to serve the public."
This year, EGLE has a new veterans employee resource group that has updated the veterans display case in Constitution Hall. It features pictures of EGLE colleagues when they were serving as well as a new plaque that lists their names.
EGLE currently has achieved the bronze-level, Veteran-Friendly certification from the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency and is working toward the silver designation. The certification means EGLE has made a concerted effort to attract veterans, active Guard and Reserve members, and transition military personnel to its workforce.
