The Michigan Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) provides all persons (except persons incarcerated in correctional facilities) with access to public records of public bodies. Requests to inspect or receive public records from EGLE must be in writing and describe the requested records with enough detail to enable the department to identify and locate the requested records. Some records are exempt from disclosure under the FOIA or another statute and thus will not be provided. A fee may be charged to process your request. Please note that many records are available that do not require a formal FOIA request.

The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE) developed this webinar series for all operators struggling with math or who need to establish the base work for advanced math computation. These sessions will help establish the background knowledge required to progress to the next stage of math for water operators.
Each session is approved for 0.2 CECs in the technical category for drinking water and wastewater operators. To be eligible for CECs, you must attend the entire session, answer all webinar poll questions, and be a paid registrant.
This course is comprised of 4 sessions held on January 06 - 09, 2025
Registration Fee: $75 includes all 4 sessions.

Session 1 – This session has been developed for all operators who are struggling with math or need to establish the base work for advanced math computation. This training will help an individual learn the basic rules and functionalities of dealing with fractions, decimals, percentages, order of operations, unit conversations, and how they all relate to more advanced math computations.

Session 2 - This session takes and builds off the basic knowledge of fractions, decimals, percentages, and unit conversations by expanding upon them. The training takes previous concepts and applies them to the water industry by linking them to areas, volumes, flow rates, and velocities of water.

Session 3 – This session combines all the elements of fractions, decimals, unit conversations, order of operations, areas, volumes, flow rates, and velocities and compiles them into one concept: hydraulics. The basics of hydraulics will be completely covered. Topics will include static pressure hydraulics based on elevation, fill rates, slope hydraulics, and the continuity equation.

Session 4 – This session combines everything covered during previous training's about fractions, decimals, percentages, unit conversions, areas, volume, flow rates, and relates them to chlorination. This training is designed to show all operators surefire methodology for solving chlorination questions based around volumes and flow rates. An individual will learn how to calculate dosages, amount of chemical needed, and amount of chemicals present in the water.
