Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment, reappointment to the Michigan Board of Acupuncture

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Elizabeth Lukasik of East Lansing and the reappointment of Renee Hubbs of Lansing to the Michigan Board of Acupuncture.

Housed within the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, the 13-member board oversees the registration and practice of acupuncture.

“Elizabeth and Renee have diverse strengths and experiences that give me confidence they will be valuable members to this board,” Snyder said.

Lukasik is the acting manager of Appointments for the Executive Office of Governor Rick Snyder and holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Oakland University. She will represent the general public and replace Sarah Wernert.

Hubbs is a registered acupuncturist in Michigan and serves as an acupuncturist for Integrated Health of Mid-Michigan. She has more than 30 years of experience practicing acupuncture and will continue to represent acupuncturists.

Members will serve four-year terms expiring June 30, 2022. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
