November 14 through November 20, 2011: Entrepreneurship Week

WHEREAS, recognized since 2008, Global Entrepreneurship Week is celebrated each November in more than 100 countries with nearly 24,000 partner organizations and agencies that facilitate activities, including networking and mentorship opportunities, that engage more than 7 million people; and,


WHEREAS, entrepreneurship brings ideas, creativity and innovation to life and drives economic growth on local, state and national levels; and,


WHEREAS, entrepreneurship encourages job creation and is a vital part of Michigan's reinvention and continued growth; and,


WHEREAS, during this week, we encourage youth and all citizens throughout the state to explore the possibilities and opportunities of entrepreneurship, and we recognize Michigan's entrepreneurs for their innovation and vision as we work toward a better Michigan;


NOW, THEREFORE, I, Rick Snyder, Governor of Michigan, do hereby proclaim Monday, November 14 through Sunday, November 20, 2011 as Entrepreneurship Week in Michigan.
