WHEREAS, from picking up litter off of the sidewalk to personal spring cleaning, it is important for everyone to play an active role in protecting and preserving our great state for generations to come; and,

WHEREAS, during the months of April and May, we join with Keep Michigan Beautiful to encourage citizens to participate in personal or community projects to clean-up and maintain the beauty of our Great Lakes state;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Rick Snyder, governor of Michigan, do hereby proclaim April and May, 2012 as Michigan Clean-Up Days.
